On being too much
keeping the love dial turned up ❤️
Mother’s Day weekend is always a special time, and this year felt especially lovely. It’s wonderful having grown children who can not just plan and pay for some things, but we can also relate as fully baked adults doing life together as partners - supporting and inspiring each other, & holding up the mirror for our good and for our growth.
My one daughter and I were enjoying a delicious Greek-inspired breakfast down the street from where they live on Sunday, and as I was dipping my pita in some smoked eggplant and cucumbers I asked, “am I too much?” This was after we already went for a long walk and stopped for pistachio and matcha lattes, and after I walked through Chinatown on my way back from getting some DKA’s for G from Dominique Ansel. I also grabbed some artisan bourekas from our favorite bakery across the street from the Greek restaurant - a treat for later. It was already noon.
She laughed and said, “Yes, you are too much. You’re too loving, you’re too caring, and you’re too thoughtful!” All the things I value and aspire to be.
The opposite is never who I'd want to be: someone who is too thoughtless, too selfish, or not caring or loving enough. I am just right.
I will keep choosing being too much, every time, especially when it comes to loving on my loved ones.
Keep caring & loving fiercely y’all! Be too much of all things good! Follow your hearts and make this world better! We got this. 🤍🥂🤍

You are Perfectly Much!!!
