Staples
what we keep on hand
Sometimes my condo feels more like a hotel than a permanent residence when I pop in-and-out for a night like last night. I must say, having a personalized hotel rocks! All of my favorite things surround me, there's great coffee and wine on tap, & when I step out my door I can take in the sites and sounds and views like a tourist on holiday.
Last night when I got in I had a lot of things I wanted/needed to do all-at-once. I had to unpack and repack, put away last week’s laundry, & do the dishes I had left behind. The downside of this not being an actual hotel is I don't have someone to pop in and change out my towels and make my bed daily. 😆
I made dinner as soon as I landed and before squeezing in a happy hour with a dear neighbor/friend who also comes and goes like I do; we only overlap on serendipitous occasions like last night.
One thing I have learned to do very well is keep groceries on tap that last. Last night's dinner was a breakfast bowl that consisted of broccoli, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and ripped up corn tortillas, made into a scramble and served with a generous dollop of cholula and kraut. The staples I keep on hand. Very satisfying and nourishing! ⬆️
My friend who popped over with the equally busy life does something similar with a pasta meal on tap. It's so nice getting home and not having to grocery shop. 🙏🏻
I'm about to call my uber & head to the airport to visit my daughters in NYC. I must admit that having grown children who live in the greatest city in America is a treat and a privilege and an honor I will never take for granted or tire of. Not only is it their dream come true, it has been dreamy for me too. This mama's heart is very grateful for this weekend getaway. The more we have to appreciate, the more we have to appreciate - always. Life practices: keep it simple, take care of yourselves by creating more ease, and have that yummy meal on tap & ready to go! 🙏🏻🤘🏻🙏🏻
